The boys and I talk food, game meats, a recent outing for a California Waterfowl Association dinner with game meats. We discuss being responsible outdoorsmen, how to treat harvested game meat respectfully and of course get off topic a couple of times.
Also we discuss Vinny's favorite game meat recipe: Mountain Chili.
Mountain Chili Recipe:
1 packet Truly Texas Chili Mix
1 lb ground Elk
1 lb cube Venison steaks
1 lb ground Wild Boar
8oz can of tomato sauce
3 celery stalks chopped
2 cups baby carrots chopped
8 red potatoes chopped
Put all ingredients in a Crockpot with 2 quarts of water, mix, and set to low for about four hours until done. Occasionally stir to make sure everything cooks
Pour into bowls and top with shredded cheddar cheese and sour cream.
Highly recommended to serve with cornbread.
